Richard Andrus focuses his practice on complex commercial real estate development, transactions, and financing. He represents developers, property owners, investors, landlords, tenants, and lenders throughout the entire asset lifecycle.

Prior to joining Clark Wardle LLP, Richard served as Associate General Counsel for Hawkins Companies, a prominent national real estate development and investment firm. In this corporate role, he provided strategic counsel on due diligence, title clearance, reciprocal easements, and 1031 exchanges. He was also instrumental in scaling the firm’s national merchant development programs for multi-jurisdictional cellular retail stores and automotive facilities.

Richard has extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex purchase and sale agreements, commercial ground leases, restrictive covenants, and specialized financing structures. His project portfolio spans diverse asset classes, including retail, office, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, charter school, and single-tenant net lease developments. Earlier in his career, he represented one of the nation’s largest telecommunications providers, securing critical access and service agreements for multifamily housing developments nationwide.
